Figma's Agent Goes on the Meter, and Discarded Drafts Pay the Bill

From 6 October 2026, Figma’s design agent leaves its free beta and draws from the same AI credit pool as Figma Make. Figma says it cannot predict a prompt’s credit cost, shows it only afterwards, and does not refund credits when an action is undone.

The episode works through why that may bill hardest for discarded drafts, and treats the effect on designers as a projection rather than a measurement. It also weighs the counterpoint from Nielsen Norman Group’s 2 October study that a visible cost could make exploration more deliberate.
